Starting in 2024, the SAT will undergo significant changes as it transitions to a digital format. CollegeBoard, the organization behind the SAT, has announced that the exam will be administered through their comprehensive testing app called Bluebook. The digital SAT will first be administered to international students in 2023 and then to U.S. students in 2024. The shift to a digital format is primarily aimed at increasing accessibility. As the SAT has become optional for many colleges, the number of test-takers has declined from 2.2 million in 2020 to 1.5 million in 2021.
